Hotel and TravelLodging InformationThe Gateway Hotel & Conference Center in Ames, Iowa is the official conference hotel for this year’s Colloquium. Conference workshops, sessions and meals will be held at this facility on October 22,23, and 25th (conference activities will take place on the Iowa State University campus on October 24th). As the conference headquarters hotel, Gateway is located a short 10 minute drive from the Iowa State University campus, and is conveniently located directly off of US Highway 30. Booking a Room: Conference rates are available at the special discount rate of $96/night plus 7% local tax and 5% state tax. To guarantee the special rate, please book your hotel room by Thursday, October 1, 2009. Booking a room in the conference block is simple: Airport TransportationShuttles from the Des Moines International Airport to Ames, Iowa will be provided through conference registration for $60.00/person roundtrip. If you are in need of shuttle service to and from the airport, please be sure to register for airport transportation when you register for the conference. Airport shuttle service will be provided only to and from the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center. For questions regarding airport transportation, please contact Haley Cook at hecook@iastate.edu. Participants may also rent a vehicle from several options at the Des Moines International Airport to transport themselves to Ames. Local TransportationLocal transportation will be provided to and from the hotel to the Iowa State University campus on Saturday, October 24th for conference activities. Transportation will also be provided to and from the hotel to White Oak Vineyards for the Saturday evening activities. |
