Pre-Medicine

If you plan to continue your education to medical school, an undergraduate degree in engineering is a good choice. Problem solving skills, critical to the medical profession, are developed early as an undergraduate student in engineering. An engineering education will also provide you with advanced knowledge of science and math. Even though students may select any of our engineering programs and designate the pre-med option, chemical & biological engineering, materials engineering, and mechanical engineering have all been popular choices with our pre-med students. Many of these departments offer research opportunities in the medical field which could provide valuable experience prior to medical school.
