E E 422. Communication Systems II
(3-0) Cr. 3. Prereq: 421 and enrollment in 423. Pulse modulation systems. Noise
analysis. Quantization and pulse-code modulation. Time division multiplex.
Information theory, coding. Data transmission: spectral shaping, transmission
impairments, error rates. Comparison and evaluation of modulation schemes for
data transmission. Nonmajor graduate credit.
