Problem Definition
Each team will construct and demonstrate a circuit that will demodulate an AM station and a FM station. The AM station will be 1430 kHz and the FM station will be 103.3 MHz. The team will construct a loop antenna for the AM station and a quarter wavelength antenna for the FM station.
Lab Report Requirements
The lab report will include all circuit designs and an explanation of how the circuits work. Each circuit will have at least one filter, you will probably need more for the circuit to work. The lab report will explain the bandwidth, center frequency, phase shift and any other relevant information of your filter(s). You will also need to explain why you designed the filter(s) with these specifications. The antenna designs and calculations will be included in the lab report.
Parts
Each group will receive the following parts to assist in demodulation:
| SA612A (mixer/oscillator) | |
| Here is the chip we will be using for the FM demodulation: MC3362 | |
| Inductors (33uH, 12uH, 330uH) | |
| Trimmer Capacitor (12.0-70 pF) | |
| Here is another inductor: 540 | |
| Speaker |
