A kickoff picnic, the Career Fair, a pancake breakfast, Senior Visitation Day, and the Engineers' Charity Ball are just some of the highlights for E-Week, September 17–23. The E-Week Central Committee, with 50 student members, has planned a wide range of activities to celebrate engineering and showcase the success of students, faculty, and staff in the college. Be sure to check out the schedule of events. The committee has added a new twist this year by incorporating a philanthropic focus. Many of the events will help raise money for the Minds of Tomorrow grant program. This program partners the College of Engineering with K-12 schools and corporations with the goal of increasing student interest in pursuing engineering-related fields.

Special weekend ahead

Plans are underway for a number of special events for the College of Engineering Alumni Reunion Weekend, September 29–October 1. The College of Engineering Fall Convocation will be Friday, September 29, at 3:10 p.m. in the Alliant Energy-Lee Liu Auditorium, Howe Hall, followed at 4:30 p.m. with a major gift announcement at the Marston Water Tower. Saturday’s schedule includes departmental open houses as part of the Cyclone Family Weekend activities and a College of Engineering tailgate. Tickets to the Iowa State vs. University of Northern Iowa football game are available for purchase ($35 each) by going to the registration form at the Reunion Weekend Website. Please sign up by September 15.
