Submission Policy

for the Program of Study

Below are the deadlines for the submission of Honors Programs of Study called the POS.  The POS identifies the courses and activities which will add "Honors Character" to your degree program.

Spring Deadline
Program of Study forms should be submitted electronically by Monday, March 3, 2008.  Engineering Honors members who have not attended the orientation meeting will be contacted by email in early March announcing the date of the Fall Semester 2008 Engineering Honors Orientation.

POS review will begin after the deadline.  Program of Study forms received after the deadline will be held for review until the next deadline.  This gives you about a month to prepare your proposal after returning from summer or winter break.

The committee will review the proposals individually in the first two weeks after submission, then meet to discuss them.  Your proposal will be accepted, rejected, or accepted with minor changes. Suggestions for appropriate changes will be given. Your changes will be due within three weeks.  The date will be provided with your feedback.

New guidelines to help develop your POS are located here. Please work with your honors advisor and these guidelines to develop your program of study.

If you have any question, please contact the committee chair, Dr. Doug Gemmill or the honors liaison, Dr. Paul S. Castleberry.
