Jessica Meredith

E-Week General Co-chair

Jessica Meredith is a senior in Construction Engineering and getting a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies. Along with being one of 2008 Engineer’s Week General Co-Chairs, she is also the Association of General Contractor (AGC) Events Chair, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Vice President, and an Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) Upper-Class Scholar. Jessica enjoys giving back to her community through volunteering with the Summer Iowa Games, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa and the Volunteer Center of Story County. Jessica plans on continuing her education and getting her M.S in Construction Management at Iowa State. After Graduate school she hopes to become a Project Manager with a nation wide residential construction company, eventually join the Peace Corp and then start her own business.



Chelsea Peers

E-Week General Co-chair

Chelsea Peers is a junior in Industrial Engineering with a Spanish Minor. She is the General Co-Chair for Engineer’s Week 2008.  Chelsea was an ambassador for Engineer’s Week 2007 and participated in many of the events. She will be taking a couple classes at DMACC during the summer of 2008 as well as working and continuing the planning of Engineer’s Week 2008. She is involved in Delta Zeta Sorority as the Collegiate Panhellenic Council Delegate, is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and is Vise President of the ISU Red Cross Club. She also plans to add a MBA program to her college schooling and to change her Spanish minor to a Spanish Major.



Katie Conrad

Events Co-chair

Katie Conrad is a senior in Industrial Engineering and will be graduating this December.  Along with being one of the E-Week 2008 Events Co-Chairs, she is also a Peer Mentor for the College of Engineering and works in the Engineering Graduate Programs Office.  Katie is currently working on her Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.  After graduation, Katie plans on receiving her MBA from Cornell University and starting up a LSS Consulting Firm.




Drew Sweers

Events Co-chair

Drew Sweers is a senior in Civil Engineering. He is one of the 2008 Events Co-Chairs. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Undergrad Department Chair Advisory Council. After graduation, he plans to obtain his Professional Engineers License and his Land Surveyors License and then become a county engineer within the state of Iowa.





Ravi Sharma

Career Fair Co-chair

Ravi Sharma is a senior in Aerospace Engineering and is currently one of the Engineering Career Fair Co-Chairs. He is also involved in undergraduate research, the Society of International Engineers, Leadership in Engineering and Diversity, and volunteering for various other on-campus organizations. After graduation, Ravi would like work in industry with hopes to later pursue an MBA and gain project management experience abroad.





Joseph Shaw

Career Fair Co-chair

Joe Shaw is a senior in mechanical engineering from Des Moines, Iowa. Along with participating as one of the 2008 career fair co-chairs, Joe is also active in his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, and is currently serving as Chapter President. Joe also works as a chemistry tutor during the school term. This summer, Joe will be interning with HNI Corporation as a manufacturing engineer.

 After undergraduate studies, Joe plans to pursue a MBA with an emphasis on operations management, look for employment in a large firm, and get an experience outside of Iowa.



Allison Bryant

E-Week Charity Ball Co-chair

Allison Bryant is a junior in Industrial Engineering and is currently a Co-Chair for the E-Week Charity Ball committee.  She is also serving as the Communications and Outreach Co-Chair on the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) cabinet and is a Sponsorship Co-Chair for VEISHEA 2009.  Allison is the
Office Assistant in the Program for Women in Science and Engineering (PWSE) office and is involved with the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) student organization.  Over the summer, Allison completed an Industrial Engineering internship with UPS and plans to pursue other co-op and internship opportunities before graduating and working in the Industrial Engineering field.



Jason Haase

E-Week Charity Ball Co-chair

Jason Haase is a senior in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department. Currently, he is one of the E-Week Charity Ball co-chairs and actively involved in various other campus organizations including the ISU Tennis Club and the Society of International Engineers (SIE). After graduation, Jason plans to enter industry where he can combine his emphasis on environmental issues with his Chemical Engineering degree. He is particularly interested in water technology and alternative energies. After a few years as a practicing engineer, he would like to work as a manager in a similar field.



Ashley Greve

Senior Visitation Co-chair

Ashley Greve is a junior in Mechanical Engineering. Along with being a Co-Chair for Senior Visitation, she is a member of The Engineering Ambassadors and Mentors, a swim coach for Ames Cyclone Aquatics Club, a member of the ISU Ski and Snowboard club and a mentor for the YMCA Connect Program. She hopes to someday work to lower pollution emissions from factories and live in the Quad-Cities area.




Heidi Van Boening

Senior Visitation Co-chair

Heidi Van Boening is a senior in Civil Engineering. Besides being a Co-Chair for Senior Visitation she is a Student Role Model for the Program for Women in Science and Engineering (PWSE) and a Peer Mentor for Engineering Undeclared Students. After graduation, Heidi plans to obtain a M.S. in Structural Engineering and work to design structures such as power plants of large buildings.





Tayte Askelsen

Minds of Tomorrow Co-chair

 Tayte Askelsen is a junior in Mechanical Engineering.  He is currently one of the Minds of Tomorrow Co-Chairs for E-Week 2008.  This summer Tayte will be interning as a design engineer with Vermeer Corporation.  Tayte has also been involved with intramurals, First Lego League and as ISU Triathlon Club VP.



Justin Fitzpatrick

Minds of Tomorrow Co-chair

Justin Fitzpatrick is a junior in Electrical Engineering.  He is currently one of the Minds of Tomorrow Co-Chairs for E-Week 2008.  Justin was an ambassador for E-Week 2006.  He is interested in networking and hardware.  He will be doing an internship with Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska in the summer of 2008.  He has previously been involved in Freshman Leaders of Engineering (FLIE) as the web chair.



Kinit Patel

Minds of Tomorrow Co-chair

Kinit Patel is a senior in Computer Engineering. He is currently one of the Co-Chairs for Minds of Tomorrow organization. Previously Kinit was an Outreach Project Leader with Minds of Tomorrow and he is also a member of Eta Kappa Nu, the honor society for electrical and computer engineers. He enjoys working with kids to promote interest in science and engineering and regularly volunteers and mentors with organizations such as First Lego League and The Middle School Science Bowl. After graduating, Kinit plans to work in industry for a few years before attending graduate school.



Brittany Horak

Publicity/Marketing Co-chair

Brittany Horak is a junior in Construction Engineering with a minor in Spanish. Along with being one of 2008 Engineer’s Week Publicity Co-Chairs, she is also Vice President of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Student Chapter, on the Association of General Contractors (AGC) Student Chapter Cabinet, and was a 2007 Hixson Seminar Leader. After completing her undergraduate degree in Construction Engineering she hopes to work for a larger construction firm with opportunities to travel early in her career as either a Project Manager (PM) or Superintendent. After working on projects all over the nation and gaining valuable experience she hopes to eventually settle down somewhere in the Midwest to start a family and possibly her own business.



Adam Weaver

Publicity/Marketing Co-chair

Adam Weaver is a senior in Civil Engineering and getting a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies. Not only being one of the Publicity Co-Chairs for 2008 Engineer’s Week, he is actively involved in America Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a member of the ISU Water-Ski Club. Adam currently works for a
Nilles Associates as an intern, and plans on obtaining an MBA in the future to pursue a management position in an engineering firm.



Jennifer Flammang

Resource Management Co-chair

Jennifer Flammang is a junior in Industrial Engineering.  She is currently a Resource Management Co-Chair, with a focus on E-Week ambassador scheduling.  She has been involved with Engineers' Week in the past, serving on the Events Committee as Intramurals Co-Chair.  While at Iowa State, Jennifer has also been involved with President's Leadership Class, Freshmen Honors Program, WiSE, Intramurals, Dance Marathon, and the Iowa State Daily Publication Board.  After finishing college, Jennifer hopes to work for a well-known company somewhere in the Midwest.



Yamille Perez

Resource Management Co-chair

Yamille X. Perez is a junior in Civil Engineering, and one of the Engineers' Week 2008 Resource Management Co-Chairs along with Jenny. On campus she is involved with other clubs and organizations including, the Puerto Rican Student Association (President), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (Secretary) and Multicultural Student Programming Advisory Council (Resource/Event Management Subcommittee). After earning her degree she would like to work in a design or construction firm and end up as Project Manager within the company she works for. Yamille hopes that the skills that she acquires in college will give her the experience needed to achieve her goals and to get to where she wants to be in life.
