At Iowa State, you will have access to top-notch resources, including well-equipped labs, sophisticated computer workstations linked to faculty offices, the campus network, and the Internet. Our newest facility is the Engineering Teaching and Research Complex (ETRC), a two-building, $61 million complex. Phase I of the complex has opened and Phase II is nearing completion. The ETRC will house one of the most advanced synthetic environments in the world, the C6 virtual reality lab. It will also feature environmental and aerodynamic wind tunnels with new research capabilities, a large high-bay area for testing airplanes, and numerous instructional labs. The ETRC will also have an experimental underwater acoustics facility, the first of its kind in the state of Iowa.
