1. Make an appointment with Clay Gurganus (clay@iastate.edu) or your Financial Aid officer. Many times your financial aid can be applied to your study abroad experience. However, it is important to verify how your aid will be applied. Students are encouraged to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you havent already done so. 2. Apply for the Sojourner Scholarship or Putzier Prize administered by the Study Abroad Center. Application forms can be downloaded from the Study Abroad Center web site. For other scholarships, check out the Study Abroad Center web site. 3. Other scholarships:
4. Tuition and fees for an academic exchange are billed through the University billing system for the term(s) in which you go abroad. For exchanges that include room and board, these fees will be billed along with tuition. The billing date is coordinated with the date of release of financial aid, so program costs as well as available aid will appear on the same bill. 5. Remember to authorize direct deposit of your financial aid via AccessPlus so that there is not a significant delay in obtaining funds. |
