1. Start the information gathering process TODAY. It is never too soon to start planning your own international adventure. Engineering students typically study abroad after their Freshman year. When you have decided where you want to go, you should start the application process no later than 1-2 semesters before your anticipated travel.

2. After reviewing the exchange programs listed on our web site and the Study Abroad Center web site, select your top 2-3 exchange program locations.

3. Make an appointment with the Program Exchange Coordinator assigned to the exchange programs that you are interested in. They have the best information relating to the location, educational institution, course credit transfers, application and selection process and deadlines.

4. Make an appointment with your advisor to talk about your academic needs and interests relating to course selection.

5. Complete the following:

  • ISU application to study abroad
  • Host University admissions application and related forms (check with the Program Coordinator)
