Welcome to the ELP application page! On this page you will find important dates for application and all the information you will need to apply.

Who can apply to this program?

ELP accepts applicants in two categories:

• Incoming freshmen: Current high school seniors who will be coming to ISU as engineering freshmen next year.
• Upper scholars: Current ISU engineering students or incoming transfer students entering engineering.

Application Period

The application period for each applicant group will be:

• Incoming freshmen: January 21 - March 3.  We will notify selected applicants by April 15, and we will work hard to notify them as soon as possible.

• Upper scholars: Feb 4 - April 8.  We will notify selected applicants by April 18, and we will work hard to notify them as soon as possible.

Application Process

Application for acceptance into the Iowa State University College of Engineering's Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) is a three step process. Please note that Step 2 and Step 3 will not be available until the application is available.

 

1. Learn about ELP.

Check out our website and informational presentations. The presentation gives a good overview of ELP. It outlines the goals of the program and requirements for participating students. It also lists some of the unique opportunities available to students who become involved with the ELP.

2. Create an ELP user ID and log in to the appropriate ELP application site.

This user ID allows you to begin completing your ELP application. However, it is not necessary for you to complete the application in one sitting. Your ELP user ID allows you to log in and continue working up to the application deadline. Please note that your ELP user ID is different than an account ID you may have created to complete your application for admission to Iowa State University.

 

 

3. Complete and submit your application for acceptance into the Engineering Leadership Program.

In order to complete the application, you must provide current biographical information (Name, Address, Email, etc), academic information, and responses to a series of short answer questions. Please note that in order to be accepted into the Engineering Leadership Program, you must also be accepted to the Iowa State University College of Engineering.
