Internship Opportunities for students
Live, Learn, Intern , The Ultimate DC experience The Fund for American Studies (TFAS),
sponsors ten Institutes which are held each summer in Washington, DC, the Czech
Republic, Greece, Hong Kong and Latin America and are sponsored in part by
Georgetown University. There are five institutes offering internship
opportunities in summer, starting June 6th to August 1st
2009. Applications due until March 5th. 1. Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic

Institute on Business and Government
Affairs (IBGA) 4.
Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Services (IPVS) 5.
International Institute in Prague, Hong Kong, and Greece 6.
Capitol Semester ( in Fall and Spring)
With a single application,
students are enrolled at Georgetown University, live in a furnished apartment on
campus in the center of D.C., and are placed in a competitive internship for
eight weeks. The internships are unpaid, but provide a great learning
experience. The faculty members,
advisors, supervisors and alumni are invited to

Undergraduate Laboratory Internships- U.S. Department of Energy Info provided at

2009 Centralized College Internship Program A six weeks
program (40 hrs/week) for undergrad (sophomore and above) and grad students.
This program provides leadership experience to students who want hands on public
policy municipal government experience.

Internships with Senator
Grassley’s Office Senator Grassley offers
internships to college-age Iowans throughout the year. Spring and Fall semester
internships last approximately four months. Two summer sessions of six weeks
each also are available. Intern Applications are available in the placement
offices of Iowa colleges and universities, as well as Senator Grassley’s offices
in Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, davenport, Des Moines, Sioux City, and

Congressional Youth Leadership
Council Internships at the Congressional Youth Leadership Council
(CYLC) provide undergraduate sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students
with a great opportunity to gain leadership skills in a working environment. Positions at CYLC are available year-round. Interns work from
20 to 40 hours per week; scheduling is generally flexible.
All interns are paid a stipend of
$10.00 per hour. Additionally, academic credit can be arranged with your
school. Applicants should have a strong interest in political science, public
policy and education. Internships are available in Vienna, VA only.

Center The Washington Center (TWC) offers
students in all majors substantive internships in fields of their choice, as
well as academic coursework and related activities. Placements are tailored to
students’ interests and may be with the governmental, business, nonprofit, or
international organizations. Students typically receive a full semester’s worth
of credit from their home institutions.
The program operates year- round, with
