Program RequirementsWhat coursework would you need to complete for a minor in Engineering Studies? The 21 cr. minor consists of three required ES courses: ES 260 “Engineering: Getting from Thought to Thing.” (3 cr.), ES 265 “Survey of the Impacts of Engineering Activity” (3 cr.), and ES 270 “Survey of How Things Work” (3 cr.)—all designed for non-engineers. You would then select 12 additional elective credits from the approved list of courses—6 cr. of which must be from either other new E S courses or 200-level or above courses offered by engineering departments. To meet the university minor requirement you’d need to select 6 cr. at the 300-level from the list of currently approved electives. No matter what your major or what your career goals are, a minor in Engineering Studies will broaden your perspective and enhance your marketability.
