1940s
John Danielson, BSME’48
, La Canada Flintridge, California, compiled and edited the Air Pollution Engineering Manual, a 1000-page manual on the control of air pollution from stationary industrial sources that was the “bible” of the industry in the early days of smog. A condensed version was also published in Japan.

1950s
James E. Crouse, BSME’57
, Hendersonville, North Carolina, lost his wife last March.
Richard H. Stanley, BSEE’55/BSME’55, Muscatine, Iowa, received the Award for Citizen Diplomacy from the National Council for International Visitors. The award recognizes his efforts to promote understanding between nations. Stanley is currently chair and president of the Stanley Foundation.

1960s
Ronald Doofe, BSChE’68
, Houston, Texas, retired last October from Montell USA Inc. after 31 years of service.

1970s
Lynn A. Richard, BSChE’73, Bristol, Pennsylvania, recently took a position as a corporation process control manager with Rohm and Haas where he is responsible for manufacturing automation technology worldwide.
Kim Searfoss, BSMetE’77, Bunceton, Missouri, received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in May 2000. He has accepted a position with the Missouri Public Defenders as a trial attorney.

1980s
Michael D. Baudino, MSBioE’81
, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was recently inducted into the Bakken Society, which is an honorary society recognizing employees of Medtronic, Inc., for outstanding contributions to the technical or scientific progress of the corporation.
Tom Huenecke, BSIE’89, Lisbon Iowa, was recently hired as a pricing and program planning and control manager for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.
Sada Joshi, PhDME’80, Tulsa, Oklahoma, was featured in 100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum Century. One of his more noteworthy contributions to the industry was the “Joshi Equation,” a formula for predicting production rates from horizontal wells. He is currently president of Joshi Technologies International Inc.
Robert Klinger, BSEE’85, Plano, Texas, is currently the section chair of Jackson Walker’s Patent Practice Group in Dallas, Texas, and the resident managing partner of the Richardson office. The firm is active in patents, trademarks, e-commerce, funding, M&A, IPOs, and advising start-ups.
David H. Sanders, BSCE’84, Reno, Nevada, is currently an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Nevada.
Harry Shainian, BSME/ME’82, Lawndale, California, went back to school in 1998, suffered a series of setbacks, and eventually took some Cisco Router training. He is now an analyst/IT administrator for DRS Sensor Systems, Inc.
Kevin D. Taylor, BSEE’83, Kokomo, Indiana, was recently appointed to represent the Society of Automotive Engineers on the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Taylor is currently an associate professor of electrical engineering technology at Purdue University at Kokomo.

1990s
Robert Cheon, BSIE’91
, Arlington Heights, Illinois, is currently the regional manager for Samwha USA in Des Plaines.
James Frizzell, BSEE’94
, Marion, Iowa, received his M.B.A. in May from the University of Iowa. Additionally, he has been promoted from senior controls engineer to engineering project manager at Vector Corporation.
Brian Grattan, BSEE’97, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, resigned his position as an electronics engineer at Square D/Schneider Electric to take a Microelectronics Innovation and Computer Research Opportunities fellowship at the University of California, Riverside. He began work on his M.S.E.E. this fall.
Rick L. Hautekeete, BSME’91, Raleigh, North Carolina, is now a senior mechanical engineer with Dewberry & Davis, Inc., a subsidiary of the Dewberry Companies, the 55th largest design firm in the U.S. The office offers services in building systems engineering, site development and land surveying, municipal and environmental engineering, and transportation engineering.
Albert Hsu, PhDME’95, Canton, Michigan, is currently a senior operations specialist with Ajilon, Inc., in Allen Park, Michigan.
Muhammad Iqbal, PhDAgE’95, Faisalabad, Pakistan, associate professor with the Department of Structures and Environmental Engineering and the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad, has designed an energy efficient planting machine for wheat in rice growing areas of Pakistan. The machine was inaugurated by the vice chancellor of the university on November 30, 1999.
Sharon Johnson, MEChE’95, New York, New York, is currently an associate in investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney in New York.
Donald Lindell, BSEE’91, Peoria, Illinois, recently graduated from Bradley University with his M.B.A. He is a senior design engineer for Komatsu Mining Systems, where he works on embedded electronics for off-highway mining trucks.
Steven and Lori Schnier, BSEE’95, and BSEE’95, welcomed their first child in April—Jacob Steven.
Daniel Whitson, BSIE’90, Peoria, Illinois, and his family welcomed a new daughter last October—Fiona Maria Violet. Whitson is a senior management engineer for OSF HealthCare Systems.
Yew Peng Wong, BSIE’94, Melaka, Malaysia, recently obtained his M.S. in logistics from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. While there he was awarded the Singapore National Science and Technology Board Gold Medal Award. He is currently working as a senior consultant for Arthur Andersen. Also, he is recently married.
