Iowa Staters showed their support for ISU’s solar car team all along the Sunrayce 99 route.

Not one to be overpowered by 29 solar cars, Gordon Ebersole, BSCE’34, Bowie, Maryland, arrived at the starting line with a great sign and even greater stories about the College Cossacks. A mounted ROTC group featuring horse-drawn artillery, the Cossacks were known for their acrobatic riding skills.

Cyclone fans at the starting line in Washington, D.C., included Jean and Richard Graff, BSGenE’48, Vienna, Virginia, with team members Asten Rathbun and Brenton Rothchild.
