1930s Robert D. Rae, BSME37, Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away on August 25, 2003. He had worked as a plant engineer at the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton from 1946 until 1981. 1940s Leland Walker, BSCE44, Great Falls, Montana, was inducted into the Montana Professional Engineers Hall of Fame, which is sponsored by the Montana Society of Engineers, at the 2003 Joint Engineers Conference in Helena, Montana, last November. He is retired from Northern Testing Laboratories, a firm he founded in 1958. 1950s Elmer Bors, BSIE51, Bellevue, Washington, passed away on November 23, 2003. 1990s Mark Gilbert, BSME95, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was recently promoted to control room supervisor (from shift technical advisor) for Nuclear Management Company at the Duane Arnold Energy Center in Palo, Iowa. Ken Horne, BSME97, Cambridge, Massachusetts, received the ASME Old Guard Young Engineers Award for distinguished service as a student section leader and for outstanding postgraduate dedication to ASME through numerous society positions in November 2003.
