Kent-Stein Foundation donates to Phase II of ETRC

The Kent-Stein Foundation earmarked a $1 million gift for the second phase of the Engineering Teaching and Research Complex. Kent-Stein Foundation is the charitable foundation funded by Muscatine, Iowa-based Varied Investments Inc., which operates Kent Feed Corporation and Grain Processing Corporation.

Gage Kent, president of Grain Processing, said, "The contribution was made because science and technology are at the heart of agriculture's success in the future. Iowa State is a proven leader in generating innovative science and excellent science and engineering students."

The 300-seat auditorium in Phase II will be named the Kent-Stein Auditorium.

Engineering Dean James Melsa said, "This gift is another example of the strong and long-standing partnership between the Kent and Stein families, the Grain Processing Corporation, and Iowa State. It is exciting that generations of Iowa State students will be made aware of this partnership via this memorial auditorium."
