Hotel Registration
Conference participants are responsible for making their own hotel and
travel arrangements. A block of 300 rooms has been reserved at the
conference venue, the Caribe Hilton at a rate of $179 single/double for
January 5-12, 2002. The conference rate will be available until
December 12, 2001, or until all of the rooms in the block are filled.

and mention the following code for the discounted rate:
IOWA010502 NSF Grantees Conference. There is no provision for online
hotel reservations at the Caribe.
In the event that all rooms at the Caribe are filled, conference
participants can register at the nearby Normandie Hotel (1-800-695-8284).
Accommodations

Located only seven miles from the San Juan airport, the Caribe Hilton features beautifully furnished guest rooms with views of either the Atlantic Ocean or one of the hotels lush tropical gardens. In-room amenities include coffee makers, refreshment centers, two-line telephones with data ports and voice mail, cable TV, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, and safety deposit boxes.
The hotel property also includes several restaurants serving local and international cuisine, and a full range of recreational facilities.
