Justine
Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Clinton, IA
Best part of being an Iowa
State student: It would have to be
returning to campus after winter and summer
break—driving down University Boulevard, past Jack
Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum, knowing you are a
part of the cardinal and gold magic that is Iowa
State. GO CYCLONES!!
Dream Job: I hope to
someday work with projects which will positively
impact the world. This is why I chose
engineering as a career path—to use technology and
innovation to better the world and humanity.
Currently I am taking a Sustainable Engineering
class which focuses on using engineering concepts to
preserve the earth. Right now there is a lot
of development occurring within Sustainable
Engineering as people from around the world look
for.
Study Abroad:
I am currently studying abroad again—this
time at the Technical University of Delft in the
Netherlands. I
will be here for a full semester, taking Aerospace
Engineering classes which will transfer back to my
degree program at Iowa
State.
Advice to New Students:
Get involved! It’s the best way to meet
students, faculty, and to get to know Iowa State
in general. Plus, campus organizations and
events are always a welcome break from classes and
studying. Whether it’s through the College of Engineering
clubs, Greek life, intramurals, or the unicycle
club, Iowa State
offers something for every student.
