Industrial Engineering

Best part of being an Iowa State student: I can walk to all of my classes in a short amount of time, no need to jump on a bus or drive a car. I can get from one side of campus to the other in only 15 minutes.

Why Iowa State:  I initially came because I received the George Washington Carver scholarship.  However, since coming to ISU, I have been most impressed with the quality of help and support available to students.  Because they want you to graduate and be successful, you are treated as an individual rather than just a number.

Dream Job: To be a manager at a major corporation.

National Society of Black Engineers: I am a member of  The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). They have a lot of networking opportunities that allow me to meet and work with other engineering students all over the country.

Favorite Class: IE 305, which is engineering economics. The knowledge I gained from that class will not only help me in my career, but also in my personal life. One important lesson I will remember from that class was the present and future value of money.

Advice to New Students: Make a decision for a school based on options. When I first came to ISU I was an Electrical Engineer, now I am an Industrial Engineer. If I would have gone somewhere that did not have as many opportunities I may have had to change schools. Keep in mind that what you start in may not be what you finish in.
