Kathryn
Construction Engineering
Hometown: Edina, MN

Best part of being an Iowa State student: My friends! I've made friends that I know I will have forever.

Why Iowa State: It has one of the top construction engineering programs in the country. I visited campus on a beautiful fall day and fell in love with it!

Internship: I worked for a construction firm in Kansas City. Because of the scope of a construction project, many subcontractors (electrical, excavating, plumbing, etc.) are needed.  I sent invitations to subcontractors to bid on projects. Then I would compare their proposals and make recommendations.

Dream Job: To be a project manager at a large construction firm.

Sorority: I am happy to be a member of Delta Zeta. Being in a sorority has helped me develop leadership skills, make friends, and just have fun!

Advice to New Students: Don't be afraid to ask for help. Engineering can be challenging at times, but it is a very rewarding field.
