Mike
Chemical Engineering
Hometown: Davenport, IA

Best part of being an Iowa State student: The engineering faculty are amazing. They are always ready to offer help with homework or advice.

Dream JobTo work in the pharmaceutical field developing and testing new medicines.

Describe a Class: I'm in Chemical Engineering 210, the basis for my major. It's a small enough class that I get
1-on-1 interaction with my professor.

Fraternity: I’m a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. It’s a great way to make friends and develop leadership skills. During Greek Week, we do a polar bear plunge, lip sync contest, and raise money for charity!

Study Abroad: I hope to study abroad in Oviedo, Spain this summer.

Advice to New Students: Stay on campus the first few weekends to make friends–it will make the campus seem like a much smaller place.
