Best part of being an Iowa State student: Meeting a variety of people from all over the United States and world. Iowa State is a diverse university and I feel so blessed to meet all the great people who are here in Ames.

Why Iowa State: A family friend received his Ph. D in agriculture from here in the 70’s. He brought Iowa State to my attention, not thinking I would consider it since it was 1800 miles away from home. I checked out the website and decided to apply. Once I came for a campus visit, both my parents and I agreed that Iowa State was the place for me.

Greek Community: I found out about Alpha Sigma Kappa through my Peer Mentor my freshman year. She was an active member and thought I would be a great addition to the sisterhood. Being a part of a small sorority is rewarding because you are able to get to know every woman on a more personal level.

Favorite Class: Currently, my favorite class is Com S 207. My professor is outgoing, likes to have fun, and teaches in an effective way. Plus, the material is understandable and I find it interesting. It's enjoyable to learn how Java programming language works.

Advice to New Students: Get involved on campus! I was always told as a freshman that not only are future employers going to look at your academics, but they’re also going to look for leadership positions, individuals who interact with groups of people, etc.
