Aerospace Engineering
Hometown: Buffalo Center, IA
Best part about being
an Iowa State student: I love the
freedom to set my own hours, pick my own classes,
and determine how I live my life.
Why Iowa State:
I knew ISU had a nationally renowned engineering
college, and my father and two older brothers had
also attended ISU.
Also, the aerospace program is one of the top
programs in the nation, so I was very lucky to have
such a good school only 2 hours from home.
Dream Job:
I would love to be leading a design team for a
new, ultra-efficient commercial aircraft, or working
on wind turbine technology to increase our nation's
reliance on alternative energy
Student Clubs:
I was involved in high school in a wide variety of
organizations, clubs, and activities, and so when I
came to college, I continued my involvement here.
It's a fantastic way to network, meet new
people, and really educate you as a person, not just
as a student.
Minor:
I am pursuing a Spanish minor, and I know
being bilingual makes me more marketable as an
employee, and it also extends my realm of
opportunities beyond English-speaking countries.
Advice to New Students:
Be ready to challenge yourself in ways you never
expected.
