Not Sure Which Engineering
Major?
Don't worry—you're not alone. In
fact, almost one-third of our new students enter the
College of Engineering without declaring a specific
engineering major. During your first year, we encourage
you to explore all engineering options and then make an
informed decision on the major that is the best fit for
you.
The Basic Program
All engineering students—regardless of major—take
courses in the basic program during their first
year. These courses prepare you for any
engineering major.

Professional Academic Advisers
Two professional advisers work with
students who have not yet selected a major. These
advisers can guide you to academic programs that
match your interests and goals, assist you with your
class schedules, and teach your Engineering 101
course.
Learning Communities
Meet other engineering students, form study
groups, and plan social activities with a learning
community just for undeclared engineering students.
Our learning communities have peer mentors who share
their experiences about how to be a successful
engineering student.
