Varsity Program Authorized Callers

ISU's Varsity program membership allows us to designate a limited number of individuals on campus as Varsity Program Authorized Callers. An Authorized Caller can contact SGI directly to report hardware and software problems, but ONLY for systems covered under the Varsity program. They also have access to SGI's Electronic Services support tools for communicating with SGI support technicians and engineers about almost any type of problem. Authorized Callers serve as the points of contact between users on campus who need help and SGI.

Duties performed by an authorized caller

  • Report hardware and software problems to SGI.
  • Order software licenses from SGI.
  • Receive and stock SGI software CDs as distributed by the Varsity Administrator.
  • Loan out CDs with SGI software to users who need them.
  • Monitor Electronic Services logs for problem status changes.

Authorized Callers on Campus

Authorized Callers have been assigned to campus organizations that have relatively large numbers of SGI systems to support. If you are having a hardware or software problem with your SGI system, or would just like to get an informed answer to a technical question, contact the individual(s) below and they can submit your problem to SGI.

How to Become an Authorized Caller

If you don't see a contact above that applies to your organization, you might consider becoming an Authorized Caller yourself. If you are interested in becoming one, then there are some basic requirements you should meet:

  • You should have several systems that are enrolled in the Varsity program.
  • You should belong to an organization that doesn't already have an Authorized Caller.
  • You should be willing to serve as the point of contact for users in your area who need to report problems to SGI.

Whom to Contact about Becoming an Authorized Caller
