Talk to someone who has studied abroad before

• Be prepared to ask questions and ask for help

• Attend the Study Abroad Center Pre-Departure Orientation

• Join a club on campus to meet exchange/study abroad students

• Don't take anything for granted

• Research the country

• Talk to the school; make sure you'll be able to do the things you want

• Learn to keep track of your budget

• Keep an open mind of where to go

• Be ready to learn a difficult language

• Know what you need to get your residence Visa

• If college offers to help with Visa, take it

• Take advantage of opportunities that show up in the country

• Think of how it'll affect your classes at ISU
